Northerners in the South// A day in the life...

So it was the best friend's birthday last week. Seeing as we are pharmacy students with workload amounting to... (oh goodness knows, but think big, like, biiiig)

... She was unable to go birthday shopping, which has been our tradition since we were wee teenagers. So we decided to go today, spend money, and just have a jolly time. Except I was just meant to go along and not make any purchases, because a) my birthday has long gone, b) I shouldn't really be buying things because I am learning the concept of frugality and c) well... there is no c, but I couldn't very well stop at b now, could I?

The lipstick stain is faint, but it was her first one ever, so we're commemorating the occurrence!

Anyhowzzz, we both got cameras from the parents as birthday presents (they got us the same cameras, incidentally... LOL. Even our parents have decided to continue with the cloning...), and have proceeded to have fun with them ever since.I'm rather camera happy as this is my first camera EVER, so i'm just a lowly amateur. Do bear with me.

But ohhh we had fun. and alas, I could not stop myself from making two cheeky purchases. Life, oh life.
Happy Friday!

African Queen...

The title of this post sounds rather conceited. Like, I have proclaimed queenship upon myself. Wellll.... Seeing as I am Nigerian, and everyone is, in some way, related to royalty (there is not ONE Nigerian I have met who doesn't claim to have purple blood running through their veins. So... yeah. I am royalty by default), it is only appropriate that I resonate with my team members, no?

So yeah... Bantu knots. I was bored, I remembered the style, and off my hands went. On Wednesday night at about 3am. Yurrp.

And more pictures of the knots, because, well... I can. Enjoy!

It's a miracle!...

So... It seems I am back at this blogging thing. One minute my posts are sporadic, next minute, I'm posting, like, daily. Weird stuff.

Anyhoos. As you may/may not be aware, someone/something has sent us Brits some sun, albeit randomly, given that we are supposed to be ushering autumn in and getting ready for winter. But alas, the weather has remained within the 25-28 degrees range. AND I'M LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE! Youuuch! I have milked it all in these past few days, so, should our luck change tomorrow, I won't be as grumpy as usual about the gloomy British weather...

Not to mention, my hair just decided to be all fabulous and look all pretty and whatnot. Ahhhh I know some people find taking care of their 'fros so tedious and... well... tedious, but I kinda like it. Never have I taken so much care of my hair before. So I'm lovin' it! (Yup... McDonalds theme tune indeed)

Plus, my hair has groooown! I was playing with it and doing all these updos and whatnot... and my my myyyy am I happy or what!

Daily haircare routine:
Up until recently it was just shea butter, and then a spray bottle containing water and olive oil. But nowww! ohh I have stepped up you know, my spray bottle now contains carrot oil, tea tree oil, and castor oil as well as the olive oil and water. My hair be lookin' all shinyyyy!
Oh, plus I have this coconut and almond leave in conditioner from Boots as well. I feel like a true 'naturalista' now!

Okay... That is all for now I guess.

Shmoodle-oo!

Keeping Up Appearances...

Hello there world. My name is Sharonda Cantiquiesha Williams. But you can also call me Superwoman. And I own this blog.

Urm... I've been away for awhile, so I thought to come back with random pictures of myself and the 'fro. Quite excited as you can tell from the shoddy photographs.

Yeahh, I'm just bored/ having fun with my laptop. Hence the photo sesh.

Let's hope I don't disappear again.

Toodles!

P.S: Those aren't really my names. LOL.

More afros and music...

Espy is back on the blog! I let her be for awhile, but... I couldn't resist when I came across this cover of Lauryn Hill's Tell Him, sung by her whilst she strums these simple chords on her bass guitar.

Oh... And her hair is magnificent also.

Love it!

Wandering minds...

Distractions are so apt when revision should be taking place. It's bad, but...
Well...
...It's bad, I know...
Oh well... Here's my brain in pictures...

P.S, Apparently, I'm  an Afro-centric hippie 'cos of my obsession with print and all things floral.
I like it. Very much.

P.P.S: Pictures all stolen from random Tumblrs I stalk...

Toodles Shmoodt,
An Afro-centric Hippie! Lol.

Urmm... Her? ....

'Urrm... Her?' was my BBM name thingie for awhile. I think I thought it sarcastic. Or something.

But anyways, Here's anozzer picture of me. On here. It's becoming quite a frequent occurrence, eh?
Guess I'm conquering my fear of this blogging thing...

My hairrr! I love it! Have I mentioned how much I love it? So coily, so beautiful!

*I think that should be a jingle. Cue catchy song: 'SO coily, SO beautiful... SO you'.

Perhaps I should focus on advertising now? *smiles*

P.S: I am unsure why there's pictures of my mother and father ON THE TV ANTENNAE. I think I did it in a hurry during a gruelling tidy session, and then forgot to take them off. Well. More information about myself in cyberspace... *bites fingers*

Well. That's me again.

Goodbye now!

"Remember me as a time of day"// My 'fro journey...

*Yep. That is a One Tree Hill episode, for those who are unaware that I watch inhale, and then proceed to remember the episode titles like the cool kid I am. No judgement please. Deuces!

It is truly amazing that I am excited at the prospects of dead cells sprouting from my scalp at such an alarming rate. I love it. The whole process of deciding to rid myself of hair and its baggage was NOT an India Arie 'I Am Not My Hair' type emancipation story, it was more of a...

"It's a sunny day, I have nothing to do, I really wanna know what my head shape would look like if I shaved all my (nonexistent... seeing as I had been swept away by the Rihanna-esque 'daring' cut and been hacking off bits and pieces of it bit by bit) hair off".

And soooo.... all my hair was gone! Finished... Vanished.... And Nonexistent. Woohoo! I wishhhhh I did more with it when it was that little, like, maybe dye my hair scalp blonde? or some wacky, unreal colour for a girl of my complexion. Oh well. Now, it's growing, inch by torturous inch, and I am learning how to deal with it and love it just as it is. Of course, I want slightly longer hair than a teeny weeny 'fro, and insecurities tend to come on certain sloppy days when all you've got to show for hair is this curly mop of frizziness, whilst the rest of the world is purchasing long Mexican-Peruvian-Turkish-Indonesian-Brazilian hair. You tend to feel a bit left out. Even if you know FOR A FACT that weaves are not your forte, you wish you could rock the weave with such aplomb without excusing yourself every five minutes to have an 'itch-break' and then returning with a hairstyle that outshines Marge's blue hairdo. I know. It's a crazy world we inhabit.

Anyways. The hair is growing. And I am happy about it! As opposed to Pharmacy which is one step away from the electric chair. The course should be banned from existing.

I seem to have spoken more than necessary. Yet again. Happy Sunday folks. Remember, Jesus Loves You.

xoxo

The friendies...

InCASE you were wondering...

... none of these photos are mine, s'il vous plait. Unless you happen to see pictures of yours truly or whatever (which I beg you to ask for permission before you acquire), I own no claims whatsoever to the images.

Many thanks,
She.
