Mid- April Sunshine// Revision what?...

Okay. Funny enough, this time, my absence resulted in my getting a fair bit of work done! Despite how slooooooowly I am getting into the swing of things, I am glad that I am finally beginning to get some work done. Procrastination is not something that is advisable at this time.

However, I had to make time to blog right? I can't stay away for too long...

Unfortunately, it seems the beautiful weather we have been experiencing for awhile now has decided to disappear and throw us back into a normal, British springy April.

Not that I'm complaining though. The weather was so amazingly beautiful during the Easter, and I made sure to make the most of it. YES, my legs were out most of the holiday (Still are now, actually).

Yeah. SO. Easter Holidays! My aunty turned 50, and in true Nigerian fashion, what else to do other than have a crazy massive celebration? So party hard we did. It was fun, amazing, *insert other adjectives to exclaim how much fun I had*. Fun, amazing, because it made me realise how I've begun to forget that we are all growing up, and our lives are going in such different directions. Growing up in the rural, countryside parts of England where, urmm... Seeing people that looked exactly like you (You know wha'a mean?) was not a daily occurrence, meant we were thick as thieves growing up. Perhaps originally, our friendship arose due to our shared common ground: sharing the same experiences, i.e living with Nigerian parents and the like. Now however, I can't imagine not having these girls in my life.  But now, being in various universities all over England means we don't get to see each other as often as we would like to. Thus making moments like these, ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS.

Ope workin' her Ankara harems...

My kid sister Chioma... Seems like everyone was in Nigerian 'trads' but me... :(  I LOVED HER DRESS. Simple. Such good finishing...

A great deal of baby oil went into the glossiness of our legs...

Dotun in the fulllll works: Gele and Ankara

Lola doin' her thanggg!

Why do I always look so dorky in photos?

Anyways; Details of ze clothing:
Dress: Vintage - 8quids... did I hear you say bargain? UH HUH!
Shoes: Charity Shop - 4quids :)
Clutch: Charity Shop : 50p... I kid you not! Still reeling from it myself
Earrings: Topshop

Okay, I must leave now. I have tonnes of work to do...
I haven't forgotten about the feature! Coming soon!

Love and chocolate syrup,
me.

Thoughts required....The Jil Sander plastic bag...

... It's a PLASTIC BAG. That's over FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Okay. It's 90 quids. But STILLL....

...
...

A PLASTIC BAG. Did I MISS something?

I have no problem with artistry and all that amaze balls; Hey. it's me in question. I've learned to appreciate it all. But when a bag which, I could make infinity times over with the price of the one above is 'created', or 'designed' (But then again, how much thought went into sewing bits of plastic together, really?), I get irritated.

I like the bag. Definitely do. The colour is beautifully divine; I get the whole juxtaposition of minimalism as per the bag's design with the bright, shocking orange. It's cool. Totally Jil Sander.

It should be for free however. Okay. Maybe not FREE, but for tonnes less than its asking price.

Such creations are part of the reason why the fashion world is seen as unnecessarily superficial and feeding the inherent elitist nature of the Western world.

...Paaaaahaha... Plastic bag for NINETY QUIDS. Lol.
And I was complaining when ALDI started charging 6p for bags....

Maybe i'm just a cheapskate. Who knows.

Hello there/ In other news/ I should be making notes on spectroscopy...

I guess I need not bother with pleasantries, seeing as I am so clever and have killed three birds with one very FAT rock, and said hello in the title.

*By now, unnecessary rants such as the one above should be expected on here, you know, given the blog in question (muffled giggles)*

Yeah. I should be making notes on spectroscopy and how important it is that I know about the speed of light to save a patient's furry tongue, or itchy testicle (these things are real, believe me. And WE PHARMACISTS have to deal with these issues. Gahhh.), because OBVIOUSLY, the frequency and the wavelength of light and radiation and the like are expedient to my becoming an excellent health professional.

Sidebar: I am posting this in my house mate's room, and she is talking to her laptop. Seriously. Telling it how she's going to get lost or something, and obviously enjoying the conversation she is having with herself... I mean, laptop. And she is the main culprit for calling me weird. Imagine. (shakes head)

ANYHOW, it seems I am running out of nonsense to post on here these days. Actually, scratch that. I am full of nonsense to put on here, but instead, I have decided to torture my loverly friends/colleagues/house mates with all my psycho babble. Annoying them is ORGASMIC. Really. And... um... yeah.
But, addressing the OTHER NEWS aforementioned, did I mention already that we have ourselves a spanking, beautilicious, smarmazing house? Yeah. We do. It looks... GORGE, for no other word describes my gushy feelings for our home. (Gorge, you know? Ewww...)

I have the biggest wardrobe, as if the Fates knew that my little town would be selling couture for 50pence all summer, which I WOULD INEVITABLY purchase (and oh my, did I purchase! lol), thus causing me to have quite a number of cool clothes, if I may say so myself. And humbly so, even (Such humility, eh?). Do not fret, soon, when I can convince a camera that we can be acquaintances, I will do a haul post on all my beautiful finds of summer.
Which, finally, leads me to the reason behind this post. My latest beautiful summer find. And please. No need to remind me that we are more in winter than autumn, let alone summer, but, it's back to the Fates again, because, actually, the sun was shining today. Brightly, as a matter of fact. And I think it may have had something to do with me. You see, my shoes came today.

(Insert wails/screams/body fluids representing excitement, depending on whatever culture you belong to)

So, my shoes. Boots. Yes, boots. My red, tartan, Dr Marten boots. Mm-hmm. They turned up today, after being highly anticipated. After running home straight after lectures everyday since last week to wait for the damned postman to deliver my bundle of orgasmic joy, it finally came. And please. Despite the fact that Dr Martens are not seen as anything special any longer to some people given the ubiquitous overhaul of military boots and the like overshadowing the beauty of good ole' Docs, I am still ecstatic over mine. So much so that I almost...actually did run downstairs scantily clad to receive them. But common sense made me run back upstairs, and address the postman from the stairs, rather than in my bra and panties. Amen to wisdom!

To save you (and my fingers and my imagination) from the sordid details of why my babies came so late, I shall simply tell you this. They are MAGNIFICENT. So much so that I want to take them to bed with me, and stroke them all day long.

I think I'll settle for my feet to get all their sweet sweet loving however. Rational huh?

I am SO very proud of myself for finding such a pair of beauties, and look forward to treating them with exceedingly great care and love throughout our relationship. LOVE has only just begun.

*Unfortunately, no pictures of ze boots atm. Because of my retardedness with a camera, no doubt, BUT tomorrow, I shall be with able bodied, normal homo sapiens, who can work those darned things. Amen*

For now, these pictures from the website will have to do. But TOMORROW!!! Oh.... I am more than excited right now. Screw you, spectroscopy. Dr Martens need to be reverenced and adored!

Yeah. Okay. Bye for now...

Finally reading Chimamanda's 'Half of a Yellow Sun', and I'm liking it so far. What a hormonal little boy Ugwu is. Bless him... But, off to make a scrumptious, gooey chocolate cake, to commemorate my darling boots. Because I am very cool and obviously sane. Yes!

Okay. Goodbye fah' reals now.

Aloha!

So, you see, life is all about doing the best you can really.

I tried, to NO avail to take a substantial and show worthy picture of this little number the Mother woman bought me yesterday.

And as you can tell, I failed. BADLY, as well. As if computer retardation isn't enough, it had to spill on further to my photography skills. So, I decide to take a simple picture of a dress on a hanger, and the damn camera itself is telling me 'low lighting', every damn time. I put lights off, turn the flash on and off a couple times, and STILL no damn picture... All I get is a blurry mess...

'So, you see, life is all about doing the best you can, REALLY'!

Hence why I have decided to let you see the only picture that looks somewhat like a picture... Except it just shows the pretty little bows on the dress, and the chain strap of this cheap ass bag I bought as well. However, I shall be roping my brozzer to help me with this difficulty, seeing as he can at least work the silly thing.

Well. Here goes. Profuse apologies beforehand!

It's really pretty, really. Trust me on this. Very cutesie, Daisy Buchanan would be so proud of me. Or not. It's got a ruched waistline, and Victorian high neck thing going on, except there's these slits at the front and back that take away all the demure of the high neck.

Just imagine a slit from the top of the neckline to the top of ze madam above's (little) waist. Yurrp. And then the waist being ruched, and the skirt being waaaay shorter. Total yurrp. Oh, and it has no sleeves either. Risqué, right? lol.

So, an Old English 'Daisy Buchanan-esque' dress that is neither white nor gold (The only colours Miss Daisy was ever described wearing in ze book, mind), with gaping boobie and back holes is pretty much what El Madre bought me, and it only cost a tenner!

*Obvs, I shall be doing something about the gaping holes, jeez. Like wearing a cami underneath, to cover le brassiere, of course!*

Now to actually find somewhere to wear it to. Since I haven't actually been opportuned to wear any of my newly acquired, cool... ahem... clothes outside the four walls of my bedroom.

Well, I shall return with a PROPER photograph of the dress (and others), once ze brozzer returns.
For now, enjoy my descriptions!

And now I must leave you to continue with that *points at picture above*
See this? This is as good as my photography skills get. Which is why I have to show you this my fine photography of this fine novel!

So, Adios, and thanks for listening!

Um...skittles...!

So. First day off in forever, thank God! Except. I had to make a very useless journey to go sign my house contract and blah di dah... All that exciting, mature stuff. *okay the journey wasn't useless, seeing as it ensures I have a roof over my head and whatnot. But yeaaah... *

Anywayssss... I was being silly in the changing rooms and decided to take pictures of my goofy self. Sorry for the skittles quality though! Blame ze phone on ze camera!

Plus I didn't really think I was gonna be posting this on here... But that's just how things have transpired.. :S

Look, its my version of this whole harem pants thing! Not that they look like harems, but you get the picture. (Sort of, i'm hoping). And it has several pleats and these little buttons on the side!

The amazing part? I got it for 50p. Yes, 50whole pence. Feel free to be shocked on my behalf. I got it from this charity shop (of which my town is filled with), as well as other pretty stuff! Yaaaaay to the cheap clothes!!!!

Okay. I'm off for now!

Love and cheap stuff (lol),

Those darned adorable animals...!

I originally thought the only two 'couture' items I would ever condone myself for wanting (and purchasing once I become Miss - money - making - pharmacist after these four years of torture I have embarked upon), would be a Hermés Birkin and only ONE pair of Loub's. Because every woman should be loved and caressed by that trademark red, and well, I just want a Hermés because it makes me salivate. No joke. I was privileged enough once to witness a rich lady (old money, she smelt of), with one on her person.

Subconsciously, my whole body seemed to move around the store with her. With my eyes fixed on her bag, of course. I'm sure she must've thought otherwise about my reasons for (subconsciously) stalking her.

But alas, it is not to be so. Since I have decided not to become swept away with the popular phenomenon that masses and masses of money (which could be used in saving those poor kids in Mozambique that often frequent our TV screens,by - the - by) MUST be spent to prove one's fashion savviness (hence my want of just two designer items), this obsession does not sit well with my psyche.

 Well, not anymore.

it seems I HAVE to nab myself a pair (or two... jeez make that a lifetime) of Miu Miu's.  I've obsessed about them for awhile now; actually make that since I knew anything about fashion, or whatever. But the urge to own a pair has never been as STRONG as it is these days.

I don't know what they put in those cats. Or swallows. Or elephants.

Or whatever bloody animal is on the darned shoes. Because every time I see a pair, I want it more than... Well, I would say marriage, but that would be so fickle. Plus i'd be lying majorly.

But you must get the picture about HOW OBSESSED I AM, and how this obsession refutes my  being anti - expensive designer items. Those shoes are NOT cheap, in the slightest.

I am still in love, however. Not the mushy, Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet type (Well.. when they get there in the end), but more the weirdo, I - want - you - so - much - it - hurts - and I can't do anything about it type love. Like Edward and Bella. Yes, I know, i'm referring to Twilight whilst obsessing about shoes. I'm hoping this paints you a vivid enough picture of how much I want at LEAST a pair, for now.

you see these? Oversized rocks? Not my thing. But these? EL perfecto. Don't ask why..

You see, right now, I wish, just for a milisecond to be an Upper East Side-r, with more money than sense and Consuela as a maid, get these babies, and have my normal life back. Consuela is not necessary though...

Don't have that many black shoes, but I can assure you, these will never leave my feet. If I owned a pair, that is.

...And! *Drumroll PLEASE*, my knock offs. Which were chump change actually, and the only Mary Jane-esque shoes I own.

Except I haven't worn 'em, despite having them since last Christmas. I don't go 'out' that often to snazzy events to wear them, and even so, I look like the girl version of Shaq when I put them on (bar the muscles and all, I was referring to his height). But i'm determined to wear more heels now, and embrace my height. Why the heck not, eh?

P.S: Sorry for the crappy photos, the second one was clearly an attempt at being 'innovative' with a camera. Didn't work though. *shrugs*. What can I say, I write, paint, knit, sew and sing. Photography doesn't agree with me, unfortunately. So sorry again.

But yeah. Any potential fairy godmothers or do- gooders out there that wanna give me a pair or sell them for the same price as my knock - offs (four quids from this little charity shop... YES), please feel free to contact me. PLEASE.

I think it's time for me to leave now, my mother must be questioning my leave of absence from her presence...
Plus all this obsession is doing me NO good whatsoever.

Hence, I must depart.
Goodbye!

...My Endless Love...

*cue song*
Sorry...The title has nothing to do with the content. It just happens to be the song my iTunes has decided to play at this precise moment.. Maybe this is 'My endless Love', subconsciously. Who knows?

Oh-kay... Back to reality. Sorry for the not-so-swift introduction.

Hello there blogger-town and its beautiful inhabitants!
I've missed you so very much. So much, that I haven't written anything on here for days. Penance is in order. Pleaseeeeee forgive my soul!

Sidebar: Ahhh what the 'eck! You love me way too much!

Normalement! Des Affaires des choses... lol. If that makes sense whatsoever. *must remember to speak French often*

From the irrelevance of everything i've written, it is obvious I am still jobless and very, very bored. Facebook and Twitter have become warzones of my incessant psychobabble, and so I decided to throw some of that ranting your way! Hope you like it!!!

Right about now, I'm listening to the wonder that is Doris Day, crooning about a lost lover. Sad, if you ask me. Bless her soul! *Sorry, ranting again*

Lets not get sidetracked again. I came here to rant about  the impeccable sense of style of the 50s/60s, not talk about my iTunes' magical powers at detecting my mood swings.

I think i'm a wee bit too obsessed with that era. Hence the Audrey obsession. Sue me.

Totally love this movie...'Ring a damn be-yell' loool.

how quaint!!!!

^^^Mega sega super saturn inspiration...How chic? She manages to pull of the lacy tights with a polka dotted skirt AND open toes? She's officially my best friend.

Oh yesss...Speaking of which, sequins have recently made their way into my wardrobe. Thanks to the mother. This darling piece of sequin goodness is MINE! Thank Jesus!

All for the price of...well...pure cheapness... *chuckles to self*

Okay, i'll show you it soonish. Plan to wear it for a family party shenanigan, once i've figured out how exactly I wanna wear it!

Okay, I think i've talked WAY too much for one blog post. Do forgive me. Result of having nothing to do.

I'll be seeing you!
Loves and Polish biscuits!

superexcitement is nothing but amazing....

... I have NEW old clothes!!!!

(Hi by the way, i'm just so excited at the prospects of my newly acquired *old* clothes!!! :)

my friend's mum wanted to throw a whole bin bagful of her old (what I call vintage...) clothes from the 80s.... but then she remembered my unhealthy obsession with old things... I spent a whole day reading books on the 1900s- 1920s era. Don't ask why. Because I just can. And I happen to find it fun!!!! :)

But anyhooos, back to the clothes... I have so many chiffon and cotton shirts... greatttttttt for summer... the whole dirty-dancing "baby-esque" look... if you know what I mean. (Dirty Dancing is a beautiful movie, btw...)

ANDDDDD, I have a blazer that looks like it belonged to MC Hammerrrr!!! GREAT TIMESS!!!

lool. just felt like updating you on my cheap acquisition of new clothes... still on the lookout for mums with wardrobes full of their old clothing!!!!! :)

ta-taaaa for now!!!
