Blue Suede Shoes...

I don't have anything to blog about, so I figured I may as well show you my most recent purchase (as well as my mother's bag I wish she would let me steal). Yeah. Cobalt blue fringed desert boots. Why not? Sticking to the status quo is just not appealing all the time. Indeed it is not.

Adios!

Constantly Living in Retrospect// Christmas Wishlist...

Hi guys.

So.

IT'S LIKE, Six days till  CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Please forgive me for these outbursts. I honestly cannot control myself where Christmas is concerned. I am a self confessed, happy-about-it, walking-about-wishing-people-merry-christmas-from-October Christmas junkie. Don't really know why or how I became this obsessed with the month of December, but I have always been excited about it. Despite my very loving mother and father's attempts at crushing my dreams of Santa's... errr... existence at a very young age, I was adamant that Santa was in fact, real. No ma'am, I did not buy the story of Santa not being real. The power of my imagination has been this way from a wee age, you see.

...Anyhoo, since 'tis the season to be jolly and giving and smiling at random grumpy strangers at ASDA, I figure I may as well let cyberspace know what I would like my sock to be filled with this beautiful month of December...

1. A Vintage Pentax Camera: Because, I have never owned a swanky camera before, and I remember my dad having one when I was a kid (at least I think it was a Pentax), and because they just exude super coolness. And because it's vintage. Go figure.

2. A Barbie (or otherwise) Polaroid camera: As mentioned earlier, I just really want a camera this year. I have ALWAAAAAYS wanted a polaroid. Like, always. Came across this beauty on ebay and I immediately thought: SANTAAAA!!! *giggles*

3. A Dora the Explorer watch: Simply because... well... Every cool person owns a Dora watch, and, I mean, the girl is an explorer. Currently going through a wanderlust season - I want to explore the world. Starting with Britain. So having this courageous little lady on my wrist is a good start, si? non?

4. Dr Martens floral (men's) brogues: Because my allegiance to the Doc has not waned one little bit. Just changed its course. Yep.

5. A Denman brush: Since all the naturalistas rant and rave about it, I may as well as well try it out on my mane. Although I'm quite scared of all my curls ending up on the brush... I'm afraid the science of its effectiveness is lost on me... But we'll see what happens!

6. Jazz compilation cd: Does one ever need to explain their want/need of a jazz disc set? Me no think so.

7. A TRUCKLOAD OF BLOOMIN' CREEPERS IN EVERY SHAPE, SIZE, COLOUR OR FORM: Cuz I aint mad atcha honey thang. If that made sense to you, then find me and befriend me. Merci.

Okay. I shall stop myself here, as I am suddenly aware that I want a lot of things. Now, do bear in mind that  I am merely thinking out loud, and all these things will only present themselves if I a) marry Obama the second, or b) one of those rich Arab tycoons who own like five football clubs, or c) if I am stupid enough to acquire a credit card and then go crazy with all that virtual cash...

... Which is NEVER going to happen. But somehow, because Jesus loves me like, LOADS, I will get some of these things on my list. I am almost sure of it. Maybe not for Christmas, buuut... mehh. Soon. Just watch me!

Yeah. Materialistic rant over.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

This week I'm wanting... Charlotte Olympia's cats.

Charlotte Olympia is my kinda gal.  Ever since I saw her wacky fruit shoes, I knew we were going to stay friends and become bezziez. Because she makes cat shoes. AND I LOVE CAT SHOES!
Ohmygosh!

I mean, they're also tres cheap. You know, just yesterday, my father told me I was actually the daughter of a sheikh (sheikh being him, naturally), and our whole family had to go into hiding for some reasons unbeknownst to me. Anyhowz, turns out we're these richhhhhhhh azz people from... (I'm afraid I cannot divulge any further information, seeing as we are under an alias and whatnot). We have tonnes of money now, indispensable to me, the sheikh's daughter.

Which means that $660 for a pair of velvet catty shoes are CHEAP. CHUMP CHANGE. CHICKEN DUNG.
Yerrrz.

Who am I freakin' kidding? SIX HUNDRED AND SIXTY DOLLARS? Whyyyy Charlie WHYYYY? I'mma have to wait till I'm rolling in the deep (thumbs up, miss Adele for that song by the by) with cash. Which will be soon. By God's grace.

Six hundred and sixty dollars.
Six. Hundred. Sixty. DOLLARS.
*goes under duvet and weeps*

You are giving me EVERYTHING right about now...

I know, I know... My title sounds like something Miss Jay from America's Next Top Model would say right? RIGHT. She/he/it made the show, from his/her facial expressions, to his/her skinny legs walking down the runway. S/he was perfect. Speaking of, WHATEVER has happened to the modelling dynasty that Tyra was creating via the show? I was an avid ANTM watcher for years. Until... Well... It just got less interesting and more politically correct, and the models became skinnier than thermometers. Bleurgh.

her flares are speaking to me and begging me to take them home. Goodness!

I think this is the second time Rihanna is making an appearance on this here blog. Whilst I do not have any sort of like/love/feeling for her music, I must say, I cannot begrudge the girl some appreciation/ a shout out for her choice of clothing (sometimes). Regardless of whether or not she has a stylist, her looks still make me green with envy all the darned time. Especially right now, as I am obsessing over creepers and she is traipsing about the universe constantly clad in them? CONSPIRACY!

doesn't she just look so dreamy? Like, the soft pastels and the floral docs just finish me. Such simplicity!

The other two laaavly ladies are courtesy of Vanessa Jackman's streetstyle blog. Speaking of streetstyle, am I the only one who is gobsmacked at Scott Shuman's arrogance in his recent interview? Words cannot explain how unfortunately disappointed I was upon reading it. My love for The Sartorialist went 'poof'. That quickly. Bleurgh.
More so, I find it quite strange that I am so drawn to these minimalistic, simple looks, given that my 'style' is usually a smorgasbord of prints and a jumble of... everything. Perhaps because we are gravitating towards the cooler months? Who knows... The denim on denim look is PURE POETRY. Gawwsh.

And once again, more creeper love. Rihanna, be my friend. We can exchange my cheap knock offs for your original TUK creeps. Sincerely,
She.

Shoes Shmooze// Current obsessions...

Prada creepers
Jil Sander two tone brogues

My current 'summer' obsession(s). I am rather infatuated with creepers at the minute. I was fascinated by them when they originally graced the Prada catwalk last year, but now, my fascination has become obsession. I love the gothic schoolgirl look they personify. And because, naturally, I AM indeed a gothic schoolgirl (Lol. I do like rock music, but erm... I wouldn't call myself a mosher) , I have to snag myself a pair. Can't you just imagine them paired with nice babydoll dresses?

And the two toned brogues from Jil Sander, 'cos well, normal brogues are so last summer. *disinterested face*

Yeah... My brain's already making outfits for my creepers/breepers that I am yet to purchase...

And since I am not yet at Anna Dello Russo's status with respect to the cash flow, I am on the lookout for cheaper imitations of the Prada ones...

My spirit is torn between the vans and the Miss Selfridge ones...
And no, I am not gravitating towards these ones because they're the cheapest and I am a renowned cheapskate...

So... Yeah, new shoes here I come!

Toodle- oo! And thank you all for your lovely comments, they really do make me smile.

Fly away Peter, Fly away Paul...

I have finally come to my senses/seen the light/ reached an epiphany. My exams are in less than a month, and, despite my childish whining sessions about how torturous my course is (Masters in Pharmacy, lest you did not know), I would quite like a  First Class, par Dieu.

Therefore, I shall be going away for awhile. Gotta get my act together and begin the gruelling process of  getting indecipherable chemicals and the like into my brain.

Do not miss me too much! I shall be back!

Perhaps, even sooner than you think.

So, I leave you with a few bits and bobs of  things I am inspired by at the moment.

 jakandjil.com

Photograph I took of this marsh I used to walk through during summer last year on my way to work... Such serenity and calm. An angel-faced Edie Sedgewick; her face is a beauty to behold. Dr Martens and dotted tights; I am in love. Molly Ringwald aka Andie in Pretty in Pink - one of my favourite outfits from one of my favourite movies.YSL slanted wedges - OMG, shoelust.com/ineedsmearichhusband. TOTAL PANACHE//My cyber boyfriend. *fans self*. Arlenis Sosa for Harpers Bazaar Australia - LOVE. Her eyes are unfair, as is the nail polish that I cannot find anywhere... Josie and the Pussycats! Need I explain further?. Wise words. and FINALLY, Yours truly looking like a total dork.

*Can't remember where I got some of these pictures; been acquiring them on ze laptop for awhile now... Sorry!*

Till next time! Don't forget to eat your veggies!

Loveeeeee and chocolate syrup,

Me.

Lusting Over Shoes aye? How shallow of ye...

I. WANT. A. PAIR. Figure I should say that now before I get caught up in a fantasy story including me and these babies. Knowing me, that is very possible.
I don't think my obsession for shoes is something that has been translated unto this blog; Well, like every other   girl in the entire universe, I love shoes. So much. Okay. I have quite a fair amount of shoes, some impulse, others coveted for years, then purchased with my hard earned wages (or stolen off my mother). The best part about being obsessed with shoes is having a mother who can fuel your obsession for cheap; since she's waaaayy more obsessed than me, and has over a hundred pairs that I so happen to 'help' her wear on occasion.
Amazing that the Fates made us the same size!

See. I told you I would begin storytelling! Sorry! Okay... Back to the Campbells...

If you pay attention much to the goings - on in blogosphere, the words Jeffery Campbell should not be news to you; all the Rumis of the blogging world have at least 73.2 pairs. And originally, I could not stand the booties. Too hefty at the top, and wayyyy too high for my 5'10/5'11 frame. The Jeffery Campbell 'Lita' is what I think they're called? More drawn towards these Acne booties, I am. *I'm stillll coveting a pair of those, mind*
Ohh, I know... Sooo last season. Still want a pair though!

These Campbells in question are reminiscent of the vintage Salvatore Ferragamo platforms that I am totally in love with.
If only shoes were men. Gaaah!
Sooooo! It's only appropriate that the Campbells be known as 'Salvatore', 'cos, I mean. They look dashingly alike, no?

vintage Salvatore Ferragamo  platform wedges

JC, I aint mad atchuuu... Just send me one in my size. Sure, I may not be able to walk normally in them, BUT I WILL DO MY BEST TO. Even wear it to bed. Indeed.

This is what happens when you let an angry shoe lust-er know about vintage shoes that suddenly exist again.

Did I mention I was a UK size 7? We..ell.. 6.5 really, but I don't think they do halves. So. 7. Kind souls out there? I'm sure there are,  right?

photos from : jacvanek, al3xisp3rlman and my archive of shoes I cannot afford. Haaah.

The friendies...

InCASE you were wondering...

... none of these photos are mine, s'il vous plait. Unless you happen to see pictures of yours truly or whatever (which I beg you to ask for permission before you acquire), I own no claims whatsoever to the images.

Many thanks,
She.
